Abstract
"Engaging Community Through Digital Collections" will bring together two of our local communities to discuss their current digital projects and their experiences.
Judy Thompson, Deanne Holshouser and Jacob Del Rio from the Edwardsville Public Library will discuss their experience with digital collections and more specifically the oral history project, "Edwardsville Speaks." The collection consists of 18 interviews of long-time Edwardsville residents conducted by library staff and 11interviews of individuals with strong ties to SIUE that were conducted by SIUE students. You can listen to the interviews from the project at this link: http://www.edwardsvillelibrary.org/index.php?id=5
Shannon Davis and Makiba Foster of Washington University Libraries. (Begins at 54:30). They will discuss their university’s digital collection, "Documenting Ferguson."
